Guest Wi-Fi / planning

Voucher policy planner

Work out how many guest passes you might need, distinguish total redemptions from simultaneous devices, and export a policy worksheet. No passwords, real vouchers or network changes are made.

Not a controller or a voucher issuer. Every input is a user assumption, including simultaneous devices per pass and whether data caps reset on each redemption. Actual UniFi, MikroTik and other platforms differ by version, configuration and policy. Confirm guest isolation, captive portal settings, terms and local rules before enabling access.

Why these numbers?

Redemptions = passes × total uses per pass. Simultaneous slots = passes × the smaller of (remaining assumed uses, configured simultaneous-device limit). This worksheet optimistically assumes no earlier uses have been consumed. Required passes = ceiling(peak devices ÷ effective slots per pass). These are different limits: repeat use does not automatically increase concurrent capacity.

Verified reference: UniFi Hotspots and Captive Portals documents vouchers with time, bandwidth and data limits. MikroTik HotSpot documentation describes session-timeout, rate limits and shared users. Neither reference verifies that these generic worksheet assumptions map directly to your controller.

Next: check controller firmware and voucher policy support, guest isolation, and WAN/guest capacity. For actual code issuance, guest authorization or printed passes, use your authorized controller's supported workflow. No PDF output is offered until official pdfcn generation is implemented and tested.
